(Easy) Nail Tutorial - Smiley Faces!

Hello everyone!

Today I thought I'd show you how my nails are painted at the moment.

The inspiration behind these comes from Becca from 'voussontbeauetbelle' on YouTube. I love her channel and she sometimes paints her nails with smiley faces on them, so I thought I'd give them a go!

Becca makes hers all smiley but I decided to make mine all different faces.

:O  :P  :D  ;)

What I used:

  • Miss Sporty yellow nail polish - from Superdrug (on special offer 2 for £2.99, but £1.99 each)
  • Rimmel London Glam'Eyes liquid eyeliner - from Boots (it was a freebie I got a while ago when you bought 2 other Rimmel London products)
  • Clear nail polish

(Of course you can use any colours or brands you like, these are just the ones I chose to go with)

Step 1: Paint nails yellow, or any other colour you like really! I had to use 2 coats of Miss Sporty to get the block colour I wanted. Wait for polish to dry.

Step 2: Using your liquid eyeliner like a nail art pen, draw on the smiley faces. Wait for the eyeliner to dry a little.

Step 3: Set with a clear nail polish topcoat to make sure those smiley faces aren't going anywhere. Wait for topcoat to dry.

.....................................................................................................

And that's all! Quick and easy, although it does take a little bit of practice to get the eyeliner accurate if you have wobbly hands. Liquid eyeliner is so useful if you don't have a nail art pen, and eyeliner comes in loads of different colours so why not experiment? I've used liquid eyeliner before to make a leopard print design on my nails and it works like magic.

I didn't put a face on the thumb nail because I couldn't think of anymore and obviously I didn't want to do a sad face!

I love this nail look, it's really cute looking and even my mum and dad have commented nicely on my efforts. A few compliments never did anyone any harm so why don't you give it a try?

Do you like to do nail art? What are your nails painted like now? Feel free to tell me in comments below.
