It's time to share all the things I was loving throughout January. I've got a good mixture of beauty, fashion & lifestyle bits to tell you about so let's get straight into it!

January Favourites!
BEAUTY

You could count the amount of times I wore foundation in January on one hand. The cold weather has been taking it's toll on my skin so in an attempt to get it back on track, I focused a lot more on caring for it as opposed to covering it up. At the very start of the month I took advantage of the sales and treated myself to some Liz Earle products while they were discounted. Already a huge fan of their Cleanse & Polish (review), I thought it was about time I expanded my experience of the brand! Both the Instant Boost Skin Tonic and the Gentle Face Exfoliator have been whipping my skin into shape. I intend to write a full review so look out for that soon!

As well as those, I decided I'd try my first product from La Roche-Posay. Serozinc is one of those raved about products that I always put off buying for some reason. However now I've been using it for about a month & a half, I can see why people get so excited about it; it reduces spots like nothing else! I think it deserves a full post of it's own so I'll save the details for that but basically, anytime I see a spot developing I spray a little of this onto the area and it's almost like the spot is stopped in it's tracks and it goes down without a fight. I will say that it can be a little drying but with my Liz Earle products there to tackle that, I think I've found a keeper!

Liz Earle & La Roche-Posay Serozinc skincare
Skincare aside, to go with my minimal makeup I found a lip combination that I've stuck to pretty much the whole month. I've been loving applying Max Factor's Colour Elixir lip liner in 'Mauve Moment' all over the lips for a bit of colour that's just deeper than that of my own. When I included it in this drugstore beauty haul, I remember getting a comment from someone saying they found it to be quite drying and yes, it can be. However adding some lip balm over the top solves that problem, resulting in a long lasting colour which is still comfortable to wear. It's not usually like me to stick to one lip colour for a whole month, I do love to chop & change but y'know what, it's nice to have a go-to that you can rely on!

FASHION

I didn't actually go January sale shopping for any clothes (until the very end of the month, so those things could possibly be in February's faves!) but I did get some amazing pyjama's for Christmas which I've kinda been obsessed with since the moment I laid eyes on them. Look at how cute the top is! So fluffy. So cosy. It's from F+F at Tesco and a matching sleeping mask came with it, something which has really been helping me get a better night's sleep too.

F+F at Tesco pyjama's
ETC.

Another Christmas gift, but if I remember correctly it was New Year's when we watched Big Hero 6 on DVD. When I watched the trailer I knew it was gonna be good but I wasn't expecting for it to become one of my favourite films! They got the balance between really funny moments as well as heart-breaking ones spot on and the attention to every tiny detail is astonishing too. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend you do - it's gonna be one of those ones I rewatch over and over!

I also want to include the book I've been reading, as well as reading in general in my favourites this month. Something that comes with having CFS/ME is a difficulty to concentrate and ever since I developed it, reading became a real challenge so I haven't been able to pick up many books and finish them. In January however, I managed to read The Difference A Day Makes by Carole Matthews and although it took a lot longer to get through than I'd have liked, I consider it real progress. Anyway, onto the book! For the first couple of chapters I was really unsure whether I liked it or not. That was until something hugely shocking happened (I'm obviously not gonna give away any spoilers but I will say that I had to look up from the book and take a second to process what just happened) and from that point onwards I was hooked. With my rekindled love of reading I might start writing book reviews here so let me know if you'd like to see one for this!

Big Hero 6 & The Difference A Day Makes

Lastly I just want to mention the little bit of travelling I was able to do in January. How could I not? I went to stay with my sister in the glorious city of Cambridge from the 8th - 14th and I had a wonderful time there. I wrote a whole post about the trip which you can read here if you want to know what I got up to each day. I feel so lucky to have so many happy memories of the place and I'm hoping another chance to visit will pop up in the not too distant future!

So those are the things I loved most in January! Go ahead and get involved in the comments below and let me know if you have any experience with anything I've mentioned, I'd love to know!

In a bid to share more OOTD's this year, I thought I'd show you what I wore to my dad's birthday dinner on Tuesday night!

OOTD ft. River Island drop hem skirt (January sales) & Boohoo denim jacket!

Y'know when you get up in the morning with a good idea of what you want to wear but when it comes to trying it on, it just doesn't work? Well that's what happened to me when I got dressed on Tuesday. I had intended to wear a pair of monochrome patterned jeans with this jacket but for some reason (nothing to do with overindulging at Christmas obv), they wouldn't zip up. After having the same luck with a bunch of other things I tried on, as a last resort I lifted this drop hem skirt out of my wardrobe.

I actually found it in the River Island January sale a few years back for only 8 quid. In that time I've only worn it a handful of times because it rarely seems to look right with anything! That is until the eureka moment when I glimpsed it in the same eyeshot as this denim jacket. Ever since Boohoo sent it to me last year for this outfit I've been finding any excuse to wear it, I absolutely adore it. The result of a happy accident, I also love how the two look paired together - it was just the right mix of comfy & casual while still being 'out for dinner' appropriate!

♫ Would I lie to you baby, would I lie to you? ♫
No, I wouldn't.
I was sent the Boohoo jacket a while ago/not for this outfit and all opinions are honest and my own.

As we're getting very close to the end of 2015, I thought I'd share a roundup of all the outfits I posted here on the blog this year!

2015 in outfits!

I find it so interesting to look back and see how my style has progressed from the first one in February to the most recent at the start of December. There was a 'grand total' of 11 OOTDs here on Thrift O'Clock which, quite frankly, I can't help but be a little disappointed with - I wish I'd done more! At least now I know it's something I want to work on in 2016. I'm excited to play around with different backgrounds and try new things!

My personal favourite outfits were:

90s Kid OOTD // This was a collab with Boohoo which I was over the moon to be a part of. Not only that, I absolutely adore every single aspect of it, especially the denim jacket!

The Pinkprint Tour OOTD // Looking back on it, I don't actually love this outfit but it was what I wore to Nicki Minaj's concert. She's my ultimate favourite and it reminds me of that experience. The sentimentality of it has a hold on me!

2015 in outfits!

First Ever Vlog OOTD // A little bit of sentimentality again, this was what I wore the day I first ever vlogged! Squishy feelings aside though, I do truly love that kimono to bits. I mean, look how happy I was in the photo!

Camel Coat OOTD // There was something about wearing such a neutral toned outfit that made me feel good about myself and in my mind, every piece of the outfit seems to fit together like they were made for each other! That and I've worn that coat & those jeans SO much since I got them, a ridiculous amount. They've become my go-to's!

2015 in outfits!

Now this is where I'd really appreciate your opinions! Get involved in the comments below and let me know if you'd like to see more OOTDs in the new year & if you have any ideas, suggestions or requests! Should I pluck up the courage to maybe do a fancy edited lookbook on my Youtube channel?

I did a little bit of shopping in my local Primark & charity shops and I thought I'd show you what I got!

I left a few of the spoonie 'brain fog' moments in because a) I couldn't really edit around them and b) I think they're kinda funny. I hope you enjoy the video!

And yup, I've been living in those Cookie Monster PJ's ever since I got them!

It was my birthday on the 3rd, so last night my family and I went out for dinner to celebrate. I thought I'd show you what I wore!

I actually planned on wearing something completely different but ended up changing my mind once I'd tried that outfit on! In the end I went with this Topshop dress which I thrifted last year for just £6. It's such a simple yet striking piece which, not gonna lie, I feel bloody fabulous in. I can also confirm that the pleats in the skirt of it managed to disguise the food baby I acquired as the result of a deliciously massive dinner, so thanks for that Topshop, 10/10 from me.

You may have seen the coat & boots before in previous outfit posts and that's because I love them to pieces. They are both absolute staples in my wardrobe, I wear them pretty much all the time. I needed the practicality of a warm coat & comfy shoes last night as it was ridiculously blustery outside and we had a fair distance to walk from where we were parked to the restaurant itself!

Dress // Topshop (thrifted)
Coat // Primark (thrifted)
Boots // New Look

We all enjoyed our meals and it was lovely to spend some quality time together. At one point we got chatting about what we'd call our restaurants if we owned one, what kind of food we would serve in them and what the decor would look like inside. It was a really interesting topic and I'd love to know what your answer would be!

Get involved in the comments below and let me know what your restaurant would be like if you owned one!

Hello everyone!

December is just around the corner so that means it's time for me to share what I've been loving most during the month of November!

November Favourites!

November Favourites!
 BEAUTY

Back at the very beginning of the month, I made it my mission to hunt down a copy of Glamour magazine because they had a choice of four Clinique freebies inside. Never one to say no to red lipstick, Cherry Pop was the one I went for and it was love at first swatch. I blogged my first impressions of it and now that I've been using it for the whole month I can safely say that it's easily one of my favourite lipstick formulas ever! Very comfortable and easy to wear, sometimes I even forget I'm wearing it. Luckily though it has fantastic staying power so I don't have to worry!

As well as that, I've also been using my new stuff from Zoella Beauty (review) pretty much everyday. Her brand idea is centred around creating joyous pamper time and as I've built up a decent sized collection, I definitely agree that her products do just that. If I was to pick my absolute favourite from the bunch it would be the hand cream - I've been genuinely wowed at how much of a difference using it makes!

And lastly in my beauty favourites this month is a body wash from Cussons Imperial Leather. Their pink peony & raspberry shower gel has been making me smell like a dream! The scent doesn't really linger once you're out of the shower but it's worth it while it lasts. The mix of floral & fruity goodness has been a lovely addition to my ten minute shower routine and as you can keep in the photo above, I've still got about a third of the bottle left. I would love a perfume in this scent!

November Favourites!

FASHION

I feel like as we move from Autumn into Winter I'm starting to be a lot more comfortable in my style choices - I much prefer this time of year to the Summer when it comes to clothes! I've been getting into roll neck jumpers a LOT and I think if I don't restrain myself I could end up with having one in every colour. They're just so cosy!

Then to go with the majority of my outfits lately I've been wearing my new ankle boots which I treated myself to from New Look. In the past I've been a bit of a shoe-aholic but I want to change that and create a 'capsule shoe wardrobe', if you get what I mean. Ideally I'd like to own about 5 decent quality pairs because if nothing else, I'll be able to cut down on the amount of space my shoes currently take up!

I included those boots in this outfit post alongside another favourite, my Weird Ape watch. It's such a classic design and it's nice to have something on my wrist for once because as I said in that outfit post, my wrists are too small for most bracelets!

November Favourites!

ETC.

Lastly I have three miscellaneous favourite I want to share with you!

The first is a video editing programme. I'd been looking for something similar to Final Cut Pro but available for Windows and Katy recommended Sony Vegas Pro. I downloaded the trial version and couldn't be more grateful to Katy because it's amazing! I'm definitely keen to get the full version as soon as I can.

Also this month I bit the bullet and got myself a new domain! It's just a tiny change but I love being .co.uk - why didn't I do it sooner?

And last but not least, one of my favourite TV shows is back on! This series of I'm A Celebrity has been so entertaining so far, it's one of those shows you can watch and actually laugh out loud at. I'm hoping either Vicky or George stay in til the end and win it, they're my favourite ones in there!

So those were all of my November Favourites. Get involved in the comments below and let me know what yours are!

What have you been loving this month?

Hello everyone!

Today I have a thrift haul video to share with you as I've found quite a few Autumn/Winter fashion pieces I like in the charity shops recently!

Autumn/Winter thrift haul!

You know how much I love a good bargain and at the minute I've definitely got comfy, cosy fashion at the forefront of my mind! The charity shops seem to be overflowing with jumpers and coats at the minute so I couldn't resist picking up a few pieces to add into my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. If you're looking for some new things but don't have a whole lot of cash to blow, have a rummage through your local thrift store and see what they have!

Well I hope you enjoyed this video! Get involved in the comments below and let me know if you'd like to see any of the items styled up in an outfit post!

Hello everyone!

Today's outfit post includes some of my Autumn style staples - some old & some new!

An autumnal outfit including an aztec printed blanket jacket, black ankle boots from New Look & a watch from Weird Ape!

An autumnal outfit including an aztec printed blanket jacket, black ankle boots from New Look & a watch from Weird Ape!

If you're an observative reader you might be able to notice I've made a few slight changes to my bedroom! I've moved the floor length mirror to a different corner and put some festive lights up. I don't think it's too early at all!

Onto the outfit: this patterned blanket jacket thing (I have no idea what to call it) is a charity shop find from last year and I'm so glad it's the right weather to be wearing it again! It's the cosiest thing to throw on over a plain outfit and instantly transform it. As for the jeans, you can't go wrong with a pair of Topshop Leighs.

My watch was sent to me by a brand called Weird Ape and I'm a little bit in love with it! As my wrists are tiny, bracelets rarely fit them so watches the only way I can accessorise that area so I really value a unique timepiece. The gold frame is actually curved, I've never seen anything like it before! At just £25 I can't help but think their watches would make a lovely gift for someone especially now we're coming up to that time of year. They come in a little velvet pouch, plus it's a practical present as well as a pretty one!

An autumnal outfit including an aztec printed blanket jacket, black ankle boots from New Look & a watch from Weird Ape!

I treated myself to some new ankle boots from New Look as I really did need a pair of season-appropriate black shoes that I could wear with anything. They fit the bill and I couldn't be happier so you'll probably see them pop up in a lot of upcoming outfit posts! I ordered on the website and used click + collect for the first time; it was a very handy service and shaved off the delivery charges which was good! You can see the boots closer in this Instagram photo of mine & here on their website!

Hello everyone!

To celebrate Charli XCX's new collection with Boohoo, today's 90s inspired outfit is in collaboration with the brand themselves!

90s inspired outfit from Boohoo to celebrate Charli XCX's collection! #charlixcx4boohoo

Let me just start this post by saying that I flipping LOVE this outfit. The great thing about taking inspiration from a past decade is that you can pick out the trends you like and leave the others behind! Denim was an integral part of 90s style and what better way to pay homage to it than with this gorgeous oversized jacket? I've wanted one for so long but the better quality ones tend to be quite pricey so I never ended up biting the bullet. That's what's good about Boohoo though, this one is only £25 and worth every penny!

The little halter neck top is such a steal at £6 - I don't own anything else like it and you know I love a unique piece! You've gotta go bra-less with it as it's completely backless. For me at least, that's pretty daring and it's something I probably wouldn't have done this time last year. I suppose that's what was so fab about the 90s; girl power and the confidence that comes with it!

The skirt is actually something I bought from Boohoo a while back and I'm loving how the subtle check print throughout it is giving a wee nod to those outfits from Clueless. The tights are a little finishing touch I couldn't resist!

90s inspired outfit from Boohoo to celebrate Charli XCX's collection! #charlixcx4boohoo

As for Charli's collection, I was super excited during the run up to the launch and she didn't disappoint! My top picks are:

- The black sparkly dress because hello sassy (& affordable) party dress!

- The fluffy cropped jumper because cute.

- The check dress because I'm imagining it with a little white tee underneath and that is all kinds of adorable.

- The ombre glitter clutch because JUST LOOK AT IT.

So there you have it, my 90s inspired Boohoo outfit! Have a browse of #charlixcx4boohoo on the website and let me know which pieces you like best!

What are your favourite things from the 90s?

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I had Anya Hindmarch's SS16 collection to share with you & today I've got the Temperley London showcase from London Fashion Week!

Temperley London SS16 @ London Fashion Week video!

Good news - a lot of the fashion that was around last Summer is going to transfer over into the upcoming season! If you're not ready to give up fringing, tassels & lace ups then you're in luck.

Alice Temperley - head-designer of Temperley London - went full on with detailed embroidery & florals and it's the clever pattern mixing that won me over. She's ticked all the boxes for Spring/Summer style and took everything up a notch. There's vibrant colours, off the shoulder cuts and a gorgeous floatiness to all the pieces that makes you want to book a holiday to an island right now!

So there you have it! Get involved in the comments below and let me know if you would wear anything from Temperley London's SS16 collection - I know I would!

What did you think of the show?

Hello everyone!

The cold weather is upon us, Autumn is well and truly here and that means it's time to wrap up in cosy layers! I found this camel coloured coat in a charity shop recently - here's it styled up for an outfit post!

It's not typical for me to dress with such a neutral colour palette but it's actually been quite nice to try something different! I fell in love with this coat the second I saw it on the rail and when I spied the £6 price tag it was a done deal. It's super cosy and lined on the inside which I'm pretty pleased with - Primark did good. In keeping with the comfortable theme, these jeans are the reason my skinnies have been neglected lately!

So there you have it, my first outfit post in a while! Get involved in the comments below and let me know how you'd style a camel coat and if you've found any charity shop bargains lately!

Hello everyone!

Did you get to go see any shows at London Fashion Week this year? Me neither. Luckily for us I've been given the video from Anya Hindmarch's show to share with you!

Anya Hindmarch SS16 @ London Fashion Week video

If you watch the video below, you'll be able to see Anya's bold yet minimalistic & almost futuristic designs. The stage itself is a sight to be seen - how cool are those mirrors? If we can take anything from this, it's that geometric shapes will be on the high street come Spring/Summer 2016 and personally I'm very excited about that! Although while the clothes are certainly fabulous, it's the accessories I had my eyes on most. My handbag collection could definitely benefit from something similar to what's shown here.

Oh and how could you miss the Boots boots? Fashion + humour is a combination Anya has sorted!

The makeup is very classic too with the focus on a bold lip colour, something you know I love and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does.

I think it would have been incredible to sit front row at such a spectactular show. The people who did are very lucky!

Well I hope you enjoyed this post! Get involved in the comments below and let me know what your dream designer show to see at Fashion Week would be!
