So I tried reverse washing . . .

Hello everyone!

Being a beauty blogger, all sorts of weird and wonderful tricks & techniques come onto my radar. Co-washing was something I'd heard about but never thought about trying myself - that was until I read a blog post on The Sunday Girl! I was intrigued by the idea and so began to try 'reverse washing' my hair . . .

If you don't know what co-washing is, Adrienne's post explains it all.

Reverse washing and co-washing often come up in the same conversation but the former definitely appealed to me a lot more. My hair has a natural wave/curl in it but it's quite fine and gets greasy faster than I'd like it to so the idea of reverse washing sounded ideal!

It actually makes a lot of sense and I have no idea why I didn't realise it sooner. Before, when I was using conditioner after shampoo, it was always a rushed step so my hair wouldn't get all the moisture it needed but it still felt weighed down once dry.

Now when I get in the shower, I go straight in with conditioner. That way it has the time to really get to work while I wash & exfoliate my body. After that, I rinse it out and shampoo then let it air dry.

The results I've noticed are much softer hair and more defined curls, plus I can go an extra day without having to wash it. The first time I did it I couldn't believe how soft my hair felt! It's been a few weeks since I converted to this method and I don't see myself going back anytime soon.

If you have the same problems as I did, I recommend giving reverse washing a go - you never know, it could be a game changer for you!

Well I hope you enjoyed this post! Get involved in the comments below and let me know if this sounds like something you think you'd benefit from!
