Empties | #1

Hello everyone!

For the past while, I've been doing something a bit odd and it's all for this blog post! Instead of throwing away my used beauty products, I've been keeping them in a makeup bag, ready for me to tell you about them. I've never done an empties post but now seems as good a time as any!

I don't have a whole load of products to talk about but I'll split them into two categories; makeup & skincare. I mean, if I included all my empty chocolate wrappers from the Christmas period I might have a lot more to show, but we're not gonna go there today!

MAKEUP

L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation
I know from the photo it looks like a full bottle but believe me, I used every last drop of this that I could! I'm a big fan of L'Oreal in general and this is the second foundation of theirs I've tried, Infallible being the first. True Match blends really nicely into the skin and gives a flawless effect. I found no faults with it other than the fact I fancied a change after a while so switched back to Infallible. I will definitely repurchase this again in the future!

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Mascara
Before buying this, I'd seen it on countless blogs and when I heard it was a slightly cheaper alternative to my favourite Benefit mascara (see next paragraph) I knew I had to try it. As the name would suggest, it gives a fair amount of volume and in my opinion length too it should be said. It never clumped nor flaked, but it just didn't give me all the oomph I want in my lashes. Don't get me wrong, I did really like it and it's fairly similar to They're Real!, just a bit tamer. I would recommend this but probably wouldn't buy again as I've found a better one for much cheaper (also see next paragraph).

Benefit They're Real! Mascara
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is my all time favourite mascara. It gives me volume, length and definition in all the right amounts, not to mention how gorgeous the packaging is. I know this is a bit marmite amongst people but I suggest trying it if you like your lashes big. The mini version often comes out as a freebie in magazines so if you see it snap it up! I haven't repurchased this as it's a bit on the pricey side for me. I will eventually replace it but for now it's being substituted with Collection's Lengthening mascara. Which, for the record I really rate, but more on that another day!

SKINCARE

Simple Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Toner
You may or may not know but I've been trying to up my skincare game lately and this bottle of toner turned out to be a little gem! I really didn't see it coming but this makes a real difference to my skin, especially with the appearance of makeup. I noticed my foundation sits a lot better if I use this compared to when I don't so I thoroughly recommend it. I definitely need to repurchase this soon as there's a toner shaped hole in my life without it!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
Ah, my trusty friend micellar water. A few splashes of this on a cotton pad has quickly become my favourite method of makeup removal - nothing makes my skin feel cleaner. The bottle lasts for ages making it worth the £4.99 price tag and then some, but if you shop around you can find it for cheaper. I've already purchased my second bottle and will most likely continue purchasing for some time to come!

I hope you liked these mini reviews and found them useful!

Have you ever tried any of these before?

Thanks for reading,
Maeve
