We put up our Christmas tree yesterday and I'm so excited to share it and all of it's little details with you today!

Christmas tree decorations!
It's tradition in our house to put up the Christmas tree on the 8th of December and it's always something I really, really look forward to. My dad and I got to work assembling it yesterday afternoon so it would be ready for when my mum & brother came home in the evening and let me tell you, it was so lovely seeing them gasp when they first saw it!

We've been using this fake tree for as long as I can remember, although we did try out a real one a few years back. I don't really have a preference either way but I do think it's nice to get the same one out that you grew up with every year, y'know? Seeing the same familiar decorations reminds me of that magical Christmassy feeling I had when I was little and it lets it live on. We usually add to it each year and last weekend we picked up some new baubles; three glittery Christmas puddings & three glittery cupcakes which I think are adorable!

After the lights were on, my dad left me in charge of the decorations which is a job I LOVE doing. I know some people might cringe at how our tree doesn't have a set colour scheme or a symmetrical layout but the fact it's so unique is what makes me love it so much. I did have a method though! All of the 'plain' baubles went on first - bigger ones at the bottom & smaller ones at the top . . .

Then I strategically interspersed the more special ones throughout, taking special care to put my mum's favourite ones on the right hand side so they'll be in her eyeline when she sits in her spot on the sofa!

We also have quite a few ornaments which were handmade by members of our family, like the two little guitars (which aren't festive at all but we're a musical family) and our tree wouldn't be complete without them.

Once almost everything is in place, my brother, sister & I each have something which is 'ours' to place wherever we want it and represent us in a way. My sister has a violin, my brother has a train and my one is this little rocking horse. Again, I can't imagine having the Christmas tree without these, it just wouldn't be right!

And last but not least, the angel on top!

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd make a fun little video to show you my mug collection!

My mug collection video including a personalised one from Mr Nutcase!

I like tea a lot and I also really, really like mugs.

I have six and drink pretty much all my beverages from mugs so there's no such thing as too many! They come in all shapes and sizes and I truly believe there's one for every occasion. For example, for times when I just want a quick cuppa my red Kit Kat mug is ideal because it's the littlest. If I've got some work to do and need a substantial amount of tea then my newest mug is the one for the job! And as you might be able to tell from the video, I tend to especially favour those that convey how much I love cats . . .

My newest mug is the one from Mr Nutcase which kindly let me design and sent it to me. They're more known for their fancy phone cases but have recently branched out into personalised mugs. I went for the large 15 oz ceramic mug with black accents which is £8.75 but they offer all different sizes and styles so there's something for everyone. It's really easy to design your own - I chose to put my blog logo on the side and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. All you have to do is upload your photos, arrange them how you'd like and there you have it, your very own one of a kind mug!

Well I hope you enjoyed this little video - I certainly enjoyed getting creative and making it! Get involved in the comments below and let me know if you share a love for mugs like I do!

How would you design your own personalised mug?

No, I wouldn't.
I was sent the personalised Mr Nutcase mug for review but all opinions are honest and my own.

Hello everyone!

I kind of have a massive full blown love for interior design. Homeware hauls are amongst my favourite videos to watch on Youtube, as are room tours. Oh and don't even get me started on Pinterest!

One of the places that seems to be pretty popular for homeware is H&M and not having a store nearby, I headed straight to their online store to see what's good!

Glass isn't something I'm particularly into when it comes to homeware but there was just something about what H&M had to offer! You could put rings or even sweets (I'm going with sweets) in the sundae bowl and maybe even recreate Beauty & The Beast with that bell jar!

I'm a sucker for cute little bowls and pots for putting nick nacks in and H&M do a great selection. The soap dispenser is gorgeous too - I feel like you've got your life together if you use a soap dispenser!

I love the style of these photo frames. Of course you could put photos in them but I think it's a cute idea to stuff cinema/concert tickets in to keep those memories. I can't resist a decorative birdcage and how adorable is that cactus candle?!

So there you have it, a few picks I've found while browsing the H&M Home site and love! Get involved in the comments section below and let me know which is your favourite item here!

Hello everyone!

Being a blogger, student and well, human being, I think it's a given that I love a bit of stationery. Especially new stationery. Always have, always will.
Call us sad but when we were younger, I remember my friend and I used to love pretending to be business owners and work in an office. Those pretend phonecalls we answered and imaginary business agendas we used to jot down in our notebooks - ah, good times. There's just something about having everything organised that's incredibly satisfying, agree?

-----

A wee while ago I was approached to review some stationery and other bits and bobs from an online shop called Viking Direct. I happily said yes and these are the items I chose.

Viking Direct is a site where basically you can find a wide variety of office supplies, crafty things, techy bits and even coffee. It makes sense really, they have your work needs covered as well as break time!

The first item is the one I was probably most excited for, the Veho Pebble Smartstick. You know the story, you're out and about and your phone dies. Shock horror, #firstworldproblems. For me, it's usually at the end of a day out when I want to listen to music on the journey home.

You simply charge the stick using the lead and corresponding input, plugging that into your laptop. It takes a good while to charge up, but once full you can then take this very portable problem solver around with you to top up your charge throughout the day.

It works with Samsung, Nokia, Apple, Blackberry and HTC devices but I can only speak for my Samsung S3 Mini and say it's a good'un. I found it took about 5 hours to charge the stick and then took 2-3 hours to get my phone back to full charge.

I tend to go for the pink option of anything if there is one, but if it's not your colour then it's also available in purple or a more neutral black or silver. At just under a tenner I think this is definitely worth it.
New handbag staple?

Notebooks. How could anyone be without them?
Make them pink and mini and I'm in. These have a really nice texture and well made, the paper is of quality and I just love the little opening message. Say hello to my new blogging notebooks!

Also say hello to my new makeup brush storage.
I loved the topsy turvy design on the website and the fact that it's white makes it look so pristine. I'm sure most of you will have at least seen a RT brush so I've set mine inside so you can get an idea of size. I will say that I did expect it to be a little sturdier, not that it's broken or anything, it just looks a little fragile. I can't see any harm coming to it if it's just going to be sitting on my shelf though.

Good old felt tip pens.
This brand takes me back to my childhood again as we had them in primary school. I think Viking Direct would be a pretty good site for teachers as they offer good multipack deals. I want to use these for general doodles as you really can't go wrong with them!

Another old favourite, index flag post-its.
I actually have a couple of obscure ways to use these if you'd like a post on that?

Last but not least, this cube of four drawers.

Now, they call it a desk organiser but I'm not sure if that's not I will actually use it for. I already have a way to keep my stationery tidy so I might use it to store some makeup but do let me know what you think. It's got a good amount of room inside and what I like about it is that they have other variations of cubes which you can stack together.
What would you use it for?

Hey there everyone!

Today I'm feeling very under the weather so I didn't go to school. My immune system mustn't be up to scratch because I was sick only a few weeks ago!? I've realised it's really getting into Autumn/Winter now, it's starting to get very cold so the hats, scarves and gloves will soon be out!
Are any of you feeling the chill too?

Anywhoo, I wanted to show you all the results of my trip to the thrift store not last weekend but the weekend before . . . . .

The charity shop I went into had a 'bric a brac buy one get one free' sale so I absolutely jumped at this offer!

(clockwise from left)
pink trinket box - £1.99
woven basket tray - £1.99   free
woven basket - 99p  free
makeup bag - 99p

The first thing that caught my eye was the little pink trinket box - it's so pretty and precious I just fell in love! It has a gorgeous beaded design on the lid.
I set out to find another item which I could get for free. I picked up the little woven basket, it's just so cute and useful for storing small things.
I then spotted the makeup bag. The pattern is really antique and unusual, and I quite like it so I had a think about it. It opens up so I can store makeup brush and all sorts in there.
I decided my free item with that would the woven basket tray, at the time I hadn't figured out what I'd use it for, but I knew it would come in handy. When I got home with it, I decided I would I use it for setting my everyday makeup on! I just have to pick this up in the morning and everything is there - fantastic.

If there hadn't been an offer, I would have had to pay almost £6.
Instead, I paid almost £3. Bargain!

............................................................................................................................

Like what I bought?
What sort of bargains have you picked up lately?

Don't forget, it's Monday! You can still ask me questions up in the Question Box tab. I answer questions every Monday in a special Monday Question Box post!
